THE BROWN LEARNING CENTER
IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE ADDITION OF:

Tools for Academic Success (TAS)

The reality is that about half of incoming freshmen end up dropping out of college! Most of these students drop out not because they are not smart, but because they are not prepared for the rigorous workload most college students take on: fifty page reading assignments from one day to the next, note taking during lecture, preparing for midterms, time management, and many other responsibilities.

High School TAS

This class focuses on giving your students the skills now, so that they are developing them through their years in high school and by this preparing to face such tasks in college, avoiding the overload shock!

Seventh and Eighth Grade TAS

This class focuses on giving your students the skills now, so that they are developing them through their years in Middle School/Junior High and by this preparing to face the more challenging high school college prep curriculum.

The Brown Learning Center has enlisted the talents of two AVID certified instructors, Ms. Tracey Lott and Ms. Brenda Lozano, who have collaborated to create this new and greatly needed class - TAS or Tools for Academic Success.

Classes are six weeks in length and meet twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Next start date is Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Call or email for more information 619-966-9795, brownlearningcenter@yahoo.com.
